1/8: A Quick Pick...

Greetings all... it's been a whirlwind of a weekend, so I apologize for my absence, but I wanted to get something (very quickly) up this morning...
  • Saints 45, Lions 28 - We knew both teams would score. They did, and the Saints had the better QB (Brees went absolutely nuts here, again) and the better defense, done and done. They'll head to San Fran next week.
  • Texans 31, Bengals 10 - The least hyped of this weekend's games turned out to be pretty run-of-the-mill. TJ Yates (159 yards, 1 td, 0 int) was better than Andy Dalton (0 TD, 3 INT), and Arian Foster did whatever he wanted.
To Sunday...
  • Falcons @ Giants - 1:00 FOX - The home town game has taken a bit of a turn hype-wise after the ridiculous Rob Parker article earlier in the week (wow, just wow), but on the field, the keys remain. How do the Falcons keep the Giants away from Matt Ryan? Can the Falcons secondary contend with Cruz and Nicks with some help from the D-line? I'm hoping that Mike Mularkey relies on the run game, and doesn't let the Giants get into that D-line that features 4 pass rushers with Tuck and Canty at DT. That's the best chance. The pick with a gun to my head? Giants 27, Falcons 21
  • Steelers @ Broncos - 4:30 NBC - If Pittsburgh was healthy, this game wouldn't be worth writing about, but because they are, here we are. I still like Pittsburgh with Big Ben on the field (even limited), and with Dick LeBeau scheming against Tebow, but could I see Tebow marching down the field with a chance to win late since Pitt is without Clark, Pouncey, Mendenhall, etc. The pick? Steelers 20, Broncos 9
Enjoy...
