10/21: World Series, Lockout, etc.

Greetings...
  • The World Series is suddenly knotted at 1-1 after the Cards blew a 1-0 lead in the 9th last night... in a typical Tony La Russa move, he pulled his closer (before he allowed a run) to insert 58-year-old Arthur Rhodes to face Josh Hamilton... that didn't end well, and when Michael Young hit a sac fly to score Andrus, that was it... Speaking of Andrus, what a play by him in the 5th to use a glove flip to save a run... best defensive play of the postseason most likely... at any rate, things are tied and headed back to Texas...
  • The NBA lockout continues... no more scheduled meetings.. and to quote Bill Simmons, "I hate everything"...
  • Jerome Harrison was traded... why do you care? Well, you wouldn't... except for the deal was voided because Harrison's physical (standard procedure for a trade) showed a brain tumor... basically, being traded potentially saved his life... kinda cool... get well soon sir...
  • Michigan State D-lineman Will Gholston suspended for one game... should've been more... and he's currently #1 on my hated player list... apparently you can nearly rip the head off a Heisman AND punch an offensive lineman in the face without being ejected, and only get a 1-game suspension...
until later...
