6/16: Stanley Cup, Braves, etc.

Greetings all... Quickly today...
  • Congrats to the Boston Bruins on winning the Stanley Cup... and simultaneously setting off wide-scale riots in Vancouver (scary stuff)... I didn't see much of this, but Tim Thomas apparently stood on his head for the better part of 2 months... first title in 40 years for the B's, and now the city of Boston has won a title in all 4 sports in the last 7 years... Heart-breaking for Vancouver who is still without a title, and their national hero (Luongo) let them down in a big way in this series...
  • The Braves lost an ugly, rain-filled 4-0 game to the Mets last night... the bats never awakened vs. Dillon Gee before the rain, or against the bullpen after it... One note from this one: I have no idea how Angel Pagan hit that ball as high/far as he did on the home run in the 3rd... nice to see Heyward in the lineup...
  • The US Open is in full swing today... no Tiger?... loss of interest immediately, but I'm still in... it's a major at a big time venue (Congressional) and it'll be compelling golf... and I can root against Phil!
  • I'm so tired of NFL lockout talk... the talks reportedly "almost blew up" yesterday... I have no idea what that means... wake me when there's free agency...
What to watch for...
  • US Open - ESPN 10:00 am - As mentioned above... it's a major... so it'll be on
  • Mets @ Braves - SportSouth 7:10 - Dickey vs. Minor - Atlanta trying to avoid an inexcusable home sweep loss to the Mets... good gracious
Enjoy...
