4/13: Josh Hamilton, NBA Seeding, etc.

Greetings all... lots to get to this morning...
  • Josh Hamilton breaks his arm... the scorching hot Texas Rangers lost their MVP yesterday for 6-8 weeks yesterday on an aggressive head-first slide in the 1st inning against Detroit... This would be a crippling injury for most lineups, but with the depth of that lineup, they should be fine for this length of time... never like to see the big guns go down though...
  • NBA Check - Andrew Bynum hyperextends his knee... you knew it was coming... the oft-injured Lakers center went down in a heap last night against the Spurs, and no diagnosis is available yet... but they certainly need him to be the favorite they're considered to be now... The seeding is set in the East with Chicago taking on Indy, Miami taking on Philly, Boston playing NY, and Orlando playing the Hawks... but the West is still murky... Portland clinched the 6 spot last night, and SA & Denver are locked in as well, but it'll come to the end for some of these... On the court, Chicago beat NY 103-90 on the road behind 22 boards from Carlos Boozer and will fight with SA for the overall #1 seed on the final day...
Baseball...
  • The Braves dominated Florida 5-0 last night behind 7 big-time innings from Hanson and a power surge from Heyward and McCann who both homered... but that isn't the story... The game drew 13,865 fans... on a sunny, cool day, on the FOURTH home game of the season... that is the Turner Field record for lowest attendance... inexcusable... I can't even summon a rant here...
  • Pitching Line of the Day - Dan Haren - CG, 1 H, 0 ER, 8 K's... Haren was dominant from the jump in shutting down the previously hot Indians... and you can't argue with 1-hitters....
  • Batting Line of the Day - Alexei Ramirez - 2 for 4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 runs... The White Sox shortstop hit the 2nd of his homers in walk-off fashion in the 10th to give CWS the win... big time...
What to watch for on Wednesday...
  • Marlins @ Braves - Johnson vs. Hudson - Fox Sports South 7:10 - Ace vs. Ace... doesn't get much better than that...
  • Hornets @ Mavs - ESPN 8:00 - Both teams playing for seeding on the final day...
  • Phillies @ Nationals - Halladay vs. Lannan - ESPN2 7:00 - the Roy Halladay show...
  • Hawks @ Bobcats - SportSouth 8:00 - If you like pain... watch this...
  • Grizz @ Clippers - ESPN 10:30 - ESPN is only still showing this game because Blake's involved...
Enjoy...
