5/27: Orlando is Alive

Hola...
  • The Magic are alive and kicking... 113-92 victory that was certainly eventful... Kendrick Perkins was ejected (and subsequently "suspended" for Game 6)... Orlando got stellar play from Dwight, Jameer Nelson, and JJ Redick... Vince Carter is still asleep somewhere... and somehow Rasheed Wallace had 21 points in 18 minutes? Just a weird game... couple that in with Glen Davis' wobbling concussion (awkward), and the prospect of an actual series? Just kind of a crazy night... On the subject of Perkins... both technicals seemed to be pretty absurd... and don't forget... the NBA has a history of rescinding technicals... it would actually surprise me if the automatic Game 6 suspension stands up because I feel like there's no way the NBA keeps both T's... Just a note... they'll need him in Game 6... Would I pick Orlando from here? No... but life is the wrong thing to give them if you're Boston...
Baseball...
  • Pitching Line of the Day - Ubaldo Jimenez - 8 IP, 6 H, 0 ER... This guy is unbelievable... actually lowering his ERA to 0.88... it's comical
  • Batting Line of the Day - Adrian Beltre - 4-5, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 R... One his bombs was hilarious... he almost hit it from his knees...
  • Tommy Hanson bounces back for ATL... a solid win after a 6 run explosion late, and an opportunity to win the series behind Tim Hudson on Thursday...
  • Stephen Strasburg is apparently being penciled in for June 8th... clear your schedules...
What to watch for...
  • Lakers/Suns 9:00 TNT Game 5... Obviously the pivotal game in the series... really interested to see how the Suns (especially guys like Frye) shoot on the road... the conventional thinking is shooters shoot better at home, and they'll need to score 110+ to have a chance... Kobe had that look in his eye after Game 4... something to keep an eye on...
  • Braves/Marlins 7:00 SportSouth - Hudson/Nolasco.. quality pitching matchup...
Done and done...
