10/28: NBA Kicks off! And more...

Just some ramblings....

  • First on my sporting agenda today is the return of the NBA in regular season form....I'm highly excited about the season and even about tonight's slate...TNT features the Cleveland/Boston and Portland/LAL double-header....pretty much as good as they could possibly do as far as intrigue.....the 2 most highly discussed East teams by far and the #1 West team facing the impending juggernaut of Portland (along with it being Oden's debut)....A really nice slate.....

  • For you NBA diehards (cough, Ryan, cough)....you can flick over to WGN to watch Milwaukee @ Chicago...lol....Derrick Rose's debut and the chance to see what in the world Vinny Del Negro is gonna go with that backcourt rotation may be enough to get me to go there on commercials....BECAUSE....

  • The World Series Game 5.5 is rained out....again.....I'm cool with this...but this could be huge depending on how MLB handles the scheduling should the series continue...namely, if Philly loses but can still get Hamels to go in Game 7....That's pretty huge...
  • More NBA news....Eddy Curry won't be in the rotation for New York....People are semi-shocked by this from a standpoint of the fact that he puts up reasonable numbers and makes alot of money...but I agree with Mike D'Antoni...he doesn't fit and they're better off without him playing....
  • Ted Cottrell (Chargers' D Coordinator) fired....About time....this unit has been flat-out dreadful and the media isn't saying this enough....people are still afraid of the Chargers...but I don't see it....worst Pass D in the league (yes, even behind the Lions) so far...ouch....

Enjoy the NBA tonight!
