6/15: Texas Stays, Finals Talk, etc.

Greetings... It's been a minute...
  • Texas (and subsequently A&M, Oklahoma, etc.) decides to remain in the Big 12... I'm not a fan of the giant shifting so this was refreshing... funniest part of it all to me? The "big 12" has 10 teams... and the "big 10" has 12 teams... good luck with that...
  • Vince Young beat somebody up in a nightclub... but because he apologized for it quickly, he's supposed to go unpunished by Roger Goodell? We're okay with this?
  • The US Open (golf version) starts Thursday.... Pebble Beach is the sight... one of the most famous courses in the world... and the buzz is... ehhh... Tiger being "down" a bit will temper it somewhat... but it's a major at Pebble Beach...
Baseball...
  • Pitching Line of the (sparse) night - Randy Wolf... 7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER... he had been dreadful so far this year... a positive for the Brew-crew
  • Batting Line of the Day - John Buck... 2-3 with 2 HR for the Blue Jay catcher... that team is a steroid-era throwback in how they are hitting...
  • After last night... Adam Wainwright has 21 consecutive "quality" starts at home (6+ innings with 3 or less ER)... that's a major league record... 21 in a row... that's absurd
What to watch for...
  • NBA Finals Game 6 - 9:00 in LA - Well... we're officially at Elimination game stage here... my quasi-prediction? I think LA wins Game 6.. and Boston wins game 7... there's no rationale there other than I think Boston is mentally tougher (outside of Kobe for LA) and are typically a pretty awesome road team... Pau Gasol has to show up.. I said it before the series... he needs to throw up a 27/14 game tonight... come on Pau...
  • World Cup - Ivory Coast/Portugal 10:00 ESPN - One of the intriguing games I talked about pre-Cup... I'm at work like normal people... but if you can watch live sports at 10:00 am? In..
  • World Cup - Brazil/North korea 2:30 ESPN - Brazil is always must-see TV apparently...
  • Braves/Rays - 7:10 Peachtree-TV - Kawakami/Price... I'll be in the building at the Ted tonight... David Price is one of the best young pitchers in the league (9-2 record with sub 3.00 ERA)... Kawakami is 0-8... advantage Rays lol
Enjoy..
