6/8: MLB Draft, Derek Lowe, etc.

Aloha...
  • The MLB Draft was last night... when did this become national news to the point it is now? I'm not really sure.. but it was broadcast live... and the #1 pick Bryce Harper has gotten ridiculous coverage... kid seems to be the real deal at 17... but any non-baseball-scout that weighs in doesn't really get much credit from me...
Current Baseball Happenings...
  • Pitching Line of the Day - Derek Lo.. err.... Daisuke Matsuzaka - 8 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 5 Ks... Derek Lowe could never do that!
  • Batting Line of the Day - Jay Bruce - 3 for 4, HR, 2 runs... he's a large, large man
  • Derek Lowe imploded on Monday for the Braves... as referenced earlier... 7 earned in 4 innings... and without question the most misleading 8-4 record in the bigs... that's what you get with an ERA over 5... and even then, the bats could've bailed him out if they didn't leave 12 on base...
What to watch for...
  • NBA Finals Game 3 (Lakers/Celtics) 9:00 on ESPN - I really, really dislike the 2-3-2 format...
  • Braves/D-Backs 9:40 SportSouth - Medlen/Jackson... in my opinion, Medlen's already earned the job over Kawakami upon the return of Jurrjens... but it couldn't hurt for him to keep it up until then
