- Edwin Jackson through an 8-walk (wow) no-hitter last night... these are always fun... 8 base-runners in 9 innings is still very good, but at what point is it "meh"? At any rate, he gets credit for a no-no the same as a guy who walks none and has an error charged to his team... the crazy part? He threw 149 pitches... Paging Tommy John... I'll give him credit though, this was a 1-0 game where he no margin for error in the 9th.. props
- Carlos Zambrano threw an epic clubhouse tirade on Friday afternoon resulting in his immediate suspension... sounds like Big Z to me... the guy he challenged in the dugout? Derrek Lee... pretty much the last guy I'd get in the face of on that team...whoops...
- Portugal and Brazil play to an uninspiring 0-0 tie... this is what I hate about soccer sometimes... not the sport itself... but it lends itself to uninspired play at times in situations like this where this game was pretty much meaningless... both were advancing and they played like it... and don't get me started on the concept of a "friendly", but that is for another day... The heat is on everyone now... knockout round kicks off on Saturday, and that is what the world's "futbol"-consuming public can beat their chest over, I'm actually excited...
- USC appeals most of their NCAA sanctions but accepts their 2010-11 bowl ban... no surprise here... No one thought they'd take this lying down, but how much can they really get this knocked down?
- Memo to Mike Vick: Stay... in... your... house... even if you had done nothing wrong in that restaurant/club... you should've been chillin at home
