9/27: Crunch Time...

Greetings... my apologies on the weekend football disappearance... was out of range for much of the weekend, and wasn't feeling particularly qualified... at any rate, let's hit the Braves..

God Bless the Houston Astros... why, you ask?... well, because they somehow defeated the Cards last night to off-set a heart-breaking Braves loss.... the lead sits at 1 game with 2 to play, and while that lends itself to the Braves favor by simple math, the Cards can't be trusted to lose to the hapless Astros again, and with Philly looking as if it'll play the starters (if not throw their full pitching at the Braves), it's crunch time...

Derek Lowe... Godspeed to you, my friend... the "Lowe is terrible!" narrative has gotten huge legs lately, but that overlooks 1) his lengthy positive track record in post-season/clutch games, and 2) he pitched fairly well in his last outing... I feel okay about this one... especially with Roy Oswalt likely to only pitch 5-6 innings for Philly and that bullpen scuffling...

Here we go...
