Big Ben, Moss, Kansas Drubbing, etc.

• Ben Roethlisberger signs for 8 yrs/102 million....I was semi-shocked by this b/c for one, he got more guaranteed money than Peyton Manning....and this deal just seemed huge to me....talked to Ryan about it and put it in a little prospective...he's a top 10 quarterback in a league that is starved for good QB play and that alone increases his value....I still think he's overpaid, but b/c the cap is pretty huge, I have no problem with this
• Randy Moss re-ups for 3yr/27 million with 15 million guaranteed....not shocked here...he fits better in New England than anyone else b/c he's the ultimate frontrunner....good to see New England opened the checkbook at least a little b/c Brady might've gone postal if they didn't keep him...now they gotta get some cornerbacks...
• I walked in the door to see the Kansas score and my mouth dropped...let's just say the final was 109-51.....In college.....The funny thing about it is the opponent (Texas Tech) is a pretty decent team who had just beaten #5 Texas the game before....Everything came together pretty perfectly for Kansas and they were throwing out a good ole-fashioned Bill Simmons whitewash (all 5 white american guys at once) at the 8:00 mark in the 2nd half....and were already up 50....my goodness
• NBA Roundup: Utah holds off Dallas late at home by 6...not shocked here....Utah hasn't lost at home since 2007....Kirilenko went down after a flagrant foul and apparently hurt his hip...interesting to see how long he's out....and Oh yeah, Carlos Boozer is the 3rd best PF in the league behind Duncan and Garnett...thought you guys should know...
• Celtics will officially sign Sam Cassell today....this, along with PJ Brown theoretically gives them the depth they've been lacking....I like the Cassell move more than PJ but that really has to do with the people they're theoretically replacing in the rotation....PJ will take minutes from Leon Powe (who I like) and although he's a veteran upgrade and fits the playoff model nicely, I like Powe so I'm not moved by that....Cassell will get the PG minutes previously occupied by Eddie House (who isn't a point guard) and brings a veteran presence and playoff guts that not many guys (if any) can bring like he can.....really should keep an eye on the minutes/confidence that Rajon Rondo ends up settling into playing alongside Sam I Am.
