Busy weekend....

I randomly did not watch many live sports this weekend (personal busyness)....terrible, right? Oh well....Here's a little breakdown of stuff I caught

Most important thing to me of the weekend is Falcons-related.....

Signed Michael Turner to a pretty significant contract ($15M guaranteed) to presumably be the main ball-carrier (with Jerrious Norwood spelling him as a speed option)....First, I like the move because I've always thought Turner was probably the best backup RB in the league....that said, He's never carried a load...so no one really knows if he can do it....But, Norwood is sure to get carries, so it has the looks of a tandem situation to me....15-20 carries for Turner, 8-12 for Norwood....I like it already....Now to basketball....
  • Kobe drops 52 on Dallas...Yikes....The Mamba decided to go off yesterday afternoon (30 in the 4th and OT) for 52 and a late victory over Dallas in OT....kudos to my least favorite NBA star (Dirk) for drilling a game-tying 3 to send it to OT...and kudos to Avery Johnson for actually having Kidd on the floor this time....but the story is Kobe just beasting the D....shocking right?

  • In related news, there was another absolute explosion from a big-time star yesterday...Lebron basically put a choke hold on Chicago late, and did it with a trash-talking swagger I've never quite seen from Lebron....He had the look of someone who just wasn't losing....I like him more and more every day....still gotta work on the J a little bit...but so did MJ...

  • NBA Quick Bullets: Hawks lose to Boston on the road....ho hum.....New Orleans gets pounded in Washington...huh? moving on....Houston keeps inexplicably winning without Yao....15 straight....

  • Dan Dakich gets rudely greeted in his first real test at IU...getting thoroughly pounded 103-74 @ Michigan State....goodness.....
  • UCLA squeaks out a solid road win at Arizona (sorry Ryan) behind Kevin Love.....Thats all I got for sunday...
  • Saturday CBB: Tyrese Rice of BC scores 46 of his team's 80....and he went ice cold down the stretch or it couldve been 55-60...no lie....Texas Tech takes down the previous hot team in the country in Texas....road conference games...no playing around....and BREAKING NEWS: I am officially off the Washington State bandwagon....they just can't score, and you have to score to win, gotta amend the Final 4 pick......Last thing, Gonzaga puts the stranglehold on the WCC in beating St. Mary's pretty soundly...caught the game in its entirety...old school PG battle down the stretch (Pargo vs. Mills) as both guys had 18 in the 2nd half....good to welcome Matt Bouldin back to life with 21 and 7.....
Farewell til tomorrow...
