- Denver re-signs Nene for 5-years, $67 million... is it weird that $67 million is a relative bargain? He got less on a per-year basis than Chandler and Marc Gasol, and he's the best player of the 3... that qualifies... suddenly, Denver is a potential playoff team again, especially with their depth in a shortened season...
- Breaking News: I will not be reporting on any Chris Paul deal/rumor until it's done... I've learned my lesson...
- Gus Malzahn to take over as the head coach of... Arkansas State!?... um... he was making nearly $2 million a year as the OC of Auburn, and he's taking a pay cut to less than $1 million to be a HC in Arkansas... I'm so confused...
- The Minnesota Twins sign Josh Willingham... multi-year deal to presumably replace Cuddyer and Kubel... sounds about right...
Quick NBA transaction review (some of these are a day or 2 old)...
- Chauncey Billups to the Clips for $2 million - What a deal for the Clips... he pretty much HAS to report (despite his best effort) because he doesn't get paid by the Knicks if he doesn't, and he's instantly their best PG with apologies to Mo Williams... dare I say the Clippers were shrewd here?...
- DeAndre Jordan gets 4-years, $43 million from the Clips - Remember that shrewd comment? Disregard... this was actual an "offer sheet match" from a deal that GSW offered, but nearly $11 million per for Jordan is a reach at best...
- JJ Barea to the T-Wolves for 4 years, $19 million - Um... this deal wouldn't outrage me in terms of money and years (I wouldn't like it, but meh) until you realize it's to a team that already has Ricky Rubio AND Luke Ridnour... David Kahn...
- David West to Indiana for 2 years, $20 million - I'm late on this one, but I love it for the Pacers... they're putting together a pretty nice nucleus for the Eastern conference with Hibbert/West/Hansborough/Granger/George/Collison/Hill...
- Kwame Brown to the Warriors - 1 year, $7 million - I hate this deal less than I did when it was announced... but Kwame Brown isn't worth $7 million and this has to take away playing time from Ekpe Udoh (which I don't agree with)... Brown has the worst hands I've ever seen for a big, but he's a semi-useful defender/rebounder...
- Mavs trade Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer to Denver for a 2nd rounder - Pure player dump here after the Mavs have signed Vince Carter and Delonte West for next-to-nothing... Denver gets even deeper...
- Josh McRoberts to LA for 2 years, $6.1 million - If McBobs performs to his 2010-11 splits, this is a bargain for only $3 million a year... he's a quality backup and brings some needed young legs...
- Marco Belinelli back to New Orleans for 1 year, $3.4 million - Sounds about right for him... New Orleans needs warm bodies, and they could've done worse...
