- Falcons 41, Jags 14 - The score indicates a blowout, but this was worse than that... Blaine Gabbert finished 12 of 22 for 141 and a TD (70.5 rating), but prior to the dogs being called off, he had 21 yards passing late in the 3rd quarter, had fumbled twice, and threw a God-awful INT... oh, and he was sacked 5 times... I have to commend Maurice Jones-Drew, as it is pretty difficult to run at 6.6 yards a clip when the entire building knows you're the only offensive threat... anyway, this was more a product of how bad Jax was than how well the Falcons played, but I was impressed with Matt Ryan for the most part (19 of 24, 224, 3 TD)... one caveat? Michael Turner doesn't look good to me... just 19 for 61 in this game, and there is zero burst late in the year...
- Dwight Howard is the most wishy-washy star of all-time... now, the trade request "still stands" just a day after sharing his lukewarm desire to stay in Orlando... I don't understand it...
- USC Left Tackle Ryan Kalil declares for the draft... he's considered to be the #1 O-Line prospect and could be a top-5 pick... kind of a no-brainer... but will Matt Barkley follow?...
- NBA Moves.... Carl Landry to the Hornets for 1-year, $9 million... I like Landry a lot and he'll help fill the David West void... that's suddenly a decent frontcourt with Kaman, Okaford and Landry... Shawne Williams to the Nets for 2 years, $5 million... he's a nice fit with Dwight Howard... I mean... uhh... and finally, Jamal Crawford to Portland for 2 years, $10 million... I'm not a Crawford fan, but he has a discernible skill (putting the ball in the basket), and gives them some backcourt flexibility... the problem only arises when you put Jamal in bad spots...
Until later...
