10/6: Moss/Vikings, Heat Debut, etc.

Lots to get to...

• Randy Moss to the Vikings? As of posting, ESPN is reporting it as a "done deal"... I'm baffled by this... especially considering they'll only retain a 2011 3rd-rounder for him... Am I the only one that sees this as the Pats punting this season for the future? I don't think they can be a legit contender with Brandon Tate as their best outside receiver... for the Vikings, you gotta love that move... Favre can still wing it down the field, and Randy is the best in the business at the deep ball... AND they get him in a contract year playing for his last contract... advantage Vikings...
• Dwyane Wade goes down! The horror!... I'm, of course, kidding around here... Wade left Miami's first preseason extravaganza early last night with a hamstring tweak... it's early... soft tissue injuries happen... nothing to see here... One takeaway? Lebron played point guard... like... alot.... that's not a surprise to most, but it is newsworthy....
• Marshawn Lynch to the Seahawks... that screeching is the sound of Justin Forsett's fantasy owners (cough, me) screaming NOOOOOO!!! as they saw the move come across the ESPN Bottomline... good for Marshawn to get out of Buffalo, and good for Seattle in acquiring a physical runner who got inexplicably buried in Buffalo for a while...
  
• There's a circulating report that the Cavs sought Larry Bird as their head coach this offseason... I'm not sure that would've gotten Lebron to stay... but it would've been a helluva pitch...
• Mark Dantonio will be in the Big House when Michigan State invades Ann Arbor... fresh off a heart attack and 2nd hospitalization for a blood clot no less... Seems crazy, especially in the press conference when he guaranteed he'd be there... but good luck to him... I'm not sure watching Shoelace Robinson as the opposition helps anyone's heart...

What to watch for...

• Rangers/Rays - ALDS Game 1 - 1:37 pm TBS - Lee/Price - Best pitching matchup of the first round series... it's shame that anyone who is employed won't see it lol... I can't get that Phillies/Reds game in this spot?
• Reds/Phillies - NLDS Game 1 - 5:07 pm TBS - Volquez/Halladay - I'm not sure how Cincy ended up with Edinson Volquez in Game 1... but God bless him against Roy Halladay... Go Reds!
• Yankees/Twins - ALDS Game 1 - 8:37 pm TBS - Sabathia/Liriano - Really, really intrigued to see how Liriano looks here.. he's got some of the best "stuff" in the league when he's going right, and he'll need a herculean effort... I almost would've saved him for game 2 and semi-conceded the games vs. Sabathia and tried to beat up on the Yankees lack of starting depth... but alas
